Tyrone

Welcome to Tyrone, GA

This warm and welcoming neighborhood is located about 25 miles south of Atlanta. The original owners were the Creek Indians, however, in the late 1800s, Irish farmers settled in the area and named the town after a county in Ireland. Tyrone incorporated on August 18, 1911, and notably, some of the homes built by those first settlers are still occupied by their descendants. The estimated population in 2014 was 7,135.

Tyrone, with its tree-lined streets and eclectic collection of homes and subdivisions, has long been one of the area’s most popular neighborhood destinations. The amazing residences and lifestyle appeal to a wide range of home buyers, from growing families and retirees to young professionals. Many developers have flocked to Tyrone due to its high land value and accessibility to Atlanta. A plethora of new projects are slated for the city of Tyrone shortly including a restoration of the old downtown, new residential communities, a golf cart path system that will connect to Peachtree City, a new public library and a new movie studio.
